After Stafford Pride issued an open letter to Stafford Borough Council expressing their disappointment in the decision not to fly the Pride flag above the civic centre in support of the LGBTQ+ community, the decision has now been overturned.

Stafford Pride released a further statement on Instagram revealing that "after a successful and productive conversation this afternoon with Stafford Borough Council Leadership, we are incredibly happy that they have overturned their decision, meaning: the flag will fly.
"Our calling to do this was never done out of denial for the support given by the council so far, it was simply about our community and showing support
"We are incredibly proud to say that the flag chosen to be flown will be the 'Progress Flag' and [it] will fly with the Stafford Borough Council Flag to show their support
"We are committed to standing up for the LGBTQ+ community in the Borough and we welcome the support today."
