Forward Film and Television Festival together with The Mockingbird Cinema are hosting an event that will screen three short films created by Birmingham’s own Joe Lycett, followed by a Q&A with the comedian, presenter and artist himself.

Joe Lycett hosting Late Night Lycett

The event, which will be held at The Crossing Digbeth (not at The Mockingbird Cinema itself) on Saturday 19th July from 3pm-5.30pm will showcase three short films screened together; Ray (2022) ‘Ray discovers he has a totally useless superpower’, Linda (2023) ‘Linda gets a job in a post office, but her tall tales soon raise suspicions’, and Dating Mark Silcox (2025) ‘Mark Silcox is unlucky in love. Until he tries a novel new approach.’ The films will then be followed by a Q&A with Joe Lycett after all, “Would it be a Birmingham affair if we didn’t include the patron saint of the city?”
