Comedian Sarah Keyworth, brought their most recent stand-up tour ‘My Eyes Are Up Here’ to Birmingham’s Glee Club on Wednesday 30th October 2024, supported by Priya Hall.
The show opened with an introduction from Keyworth, followed by some expertly delivered warm-up, crowd work with the audience before their support act, Priya Hall – a Welsh-Indian comedian and comedy writer – took to the stage. Priya’s warm, honest and very funny set explored coming out to her family, queer marriage, and starting the journey of becoming a parent with her wife; making Priya the perfect act to support Sarah Keyworth, whose audience is, unsurprisingly, made up of a lot of people from the LGBTQ+ community.
Keyworth’s brand new show, ‘My Eyes Are Up Here’ is the winner of the Most Outstanding Show at The Melbourne Comedy Festival 2024. Based around their recent top surgery and the gender euphoric results they have experienced, ‘My Eyes Are Up Here’ is a joyous and side-splittingly funny exploration of gender, identity, family and acceptance. Keyworth’s thoughtful show balances one-liners and riffing with the audience with long-running jokes that thread throughout the show.

The overarching sentimental story behind this show traces Keyworth’s relationship with their family, in particular their mother. This touching celebration of love and acceptance brings a beautifully heart-warming and compelling edge to the comedy. While the big reveal at the end of the show, which shines a light on Keyworth and their mother’s complex connection, closes the show with a punch.
Due to their first show at Birmingham’s Glee Club being a sell-out, Sarah Keyworth will be returning to Birmingham on Monday 10th February 2025. Tickets are on sale now.
