Police investigate assault on trans protesters in Birmingham

West Midlands Police have confirmed they are carrying out CCTV investigation and witness enquiries to identify a possible suspect, following an assault on trans activist who were pushed and spat at as they marched down New Street yesterday afternoon (Saturday 26th April) after the static protest which was held in Victoria Square. Witnesses are urged to get in touch to aid the investigation.

A full statement from West Midlands Police read: "We are investigating after three people were assaulted in Birmingham this weekend.
"Enquiries are ongoing after three people were pushed and spat at by a man in New Street on Saturday.
"Our officers are carrying out CCTV and witness enquiries in the area to identify a possible suspect and are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the assault.
