Wolverhampton Council has announced that the city’s Pride will be free of charge in 2026, thanks to “strong levels” of sponsorship ahead of the event. Wolverhampton Grand Theatre, Wolverhampton Homes, University of Wolverhampton, Enjoy Wolverhampton BID, Bevan Brittan, and WV Living are the sponsored thanked by Wolverhampton Council for allowing them to make 2026 accessible to all, no matter their financial situation.

Councillor Stephen Simkins, Leader of City of Wolverhampton Council, said: “Pride will now be accessible to as many people as possible at a time when the cost of living continues to place pressure on household budgets.
“Pride is one of those days when Wolverhampton really shows itself at its best – inclusive, open, and proud of the different communities that call the city home. We know that times are still tough for many families, and it matters to us that nobody is priced out of being part of something this special.
“Thanks to the level of funding generated from our sponsors, we are proud to make this year’s Pride free for everyone. Wolverhampton is a city where everyone belongs, and we want Pride to feel exactly like that. All of our sponsors and our cooperative members were in full support of our plans and are excited that it is now free for everyone to attend.”
With organisers agreeing to make Wolverhampton Pride free to all, those who have already bought tickets, that were previously priced at £10 for adults, will be issued refunds while any further tickets prices will be frozen for 2026.
The annual Wolverhampton Pride is set to take place in West Park on Saturday 6th June, moving this year from Market Square, reportedly due to development work that means to previous site is no longer large enough to accommodate the event.

Some concerns have been raised, by commenters on social media, that moving it from the city centre could impact the bars and businesses that usually benefit from the event being in the city centre. However, a free shuttle bus will operate between the city centre and West Park from 2pm until 9.15pm, with full details to be outlined soon.
The event will still include the city centre, in part, with a parade beginning from Victoria Street at 1pm, before the entertainment commences on the West Park main stage from 2pm until 8pm. Entertainment will include: The Ultimate Boyband Party Show, Vicky Jackson as P!nk, Bollyqueer, Rainbow Voices, The Cleopatra Way, Samira Hills, and The Greatest Musicals Disco featuring Rii Rii LePour. There will also be a range of family activities including face painting, funfair rides, and a selection of food and drink for all to enjoy.
