Warwickshire Pride have received a £12,500 donation from CharityJob to support their work with LGBTQ+ people seeking asylum in the area. Warwickshire Pride was one of the five organisations selected to receive a donation from CharityJob, as part of its annual commitment to give back to the sector. This large donation will be used by Warwickshire Pride to provide support to LGBTQ+ refugees, who have been placed in Warwickshire, and require support relating to their LGBTQ+ identity and going through the asylum process.

CharityJob is the UK’s largest charity job board founded by Steve and Raya Wexler in February 2000, sharing more than two decades experience working within charities themselves. Warwickshire Pride was selected from more than 1,000 organisations to receive an award that supports UK-based charities with 50 or fewer employees, with an income of less than £1 million, that have been registered for more than one year with published accounts.

“We feel incredibly privileged to support such meaningful organisations. This opportunity is made possible thanks to the recruiters who advertise with us and their support directly fuels our ability to give back to the sector we love,” says Raya Wexler, co-founder of CharityJob and CharityConnect.

Daniel Browne, Chair of Warwickshire Pride, said, "Receiving the phone call to say we had been awarded a donation was a big surprise. I thought little Warwickshire Pride would never be chosen when there must have been so many worthwhile charities who applied. Being chosen is testament to the work of Warwickshire Pride and the fantastic team of trustees, staff, and volunteers who keep everything running for the benefit of LGBTQ+ people across Warwickshire. The donation will help us to support LGBTQ+ people seeking asylum, ensuring they receive the right type of support at the right time, and feel as safe and welcome as possible."
