Here You Come Again: The New Dolly Parton Musical "tells the story of a diehard fan whose fantasy version of international icon Dolly Parton gets him through trying times. With her wit, humour and charm, Dolly teaches him a whole lot about life, love and how to pull yourself up by your bootstraps."
Packed full of some of Dolly Parton’s biggest hits and most iconic songs (as well as some lesser-known ones) – including Jolene, 9 to 5, Islands in the Stream, I Will Always Love You, and Here You Come Again – this fun jukebox musical is proudly presented by authorisation from Dolly Parton, and audiences have plenty of chance to sing and dance along to a medley of these much-loved songs after the curtain call.

Set during the Coronavirus pandemic and lockdown, Here You Come Again is the ray of sunshine and joy that we all needed during that time, and the story has been adapted slightly for UK stages with relevant references.
In Here You Come Again, the main character Kevin (usually played by Steven Webb but for Wednesday 11th September's evening performance was played by Aidan Cutler) finds himself living in his parents’ attic; feeling alone and lost. When Dolly Parton (Tricia Paoluccio) materialises in his room, however, she brings with her a library of songs in her heart, some friendly life advice and just a few Mary Poppins-esque magic tricks up her sleeve.
The show features an intricate and detailed set, with clever props and tricks, a talented group of multi-role backing musicians/actors, and of course no Dolly Parton show would be complete without cowboy boots, rhinestones, big blonde wigs and a heavy sprinkle of sparkles.
Aidan Cutler’s Kevin brought witty audience interaction that breaks the fourth wall and camp, humour to a heart-warming story that at times will induce a happy tear or two. While Tricia Paoluccio's Dolly showcased fabulous vocals with astounding likeness to the singer, as well as speech and mannerisms that truly evoked Dolly Parton herself.
Uplifting, touching and joyful, Here You Come Again is a show of many colours. Carrying a powerful message of being your true authentic self; this show is everything you would expect from a Dolly Parton musical.

After successful runs across the U.S., Here You Come Again Showcases at Birmingham's Alexandra theatre, from 10th-14th September; prior to its West End run. Book tickets online now!
Here You Come Again was originally written by two-time Emmy award-winning comedy and songwriter Bruce Vilanch with Gabriel Barre (who also directs) and Tricia Paoluccio (who also plays Dolly) and has now been adapted for the UK by acclaimed British playwright Jonathan Harvey (Gimme, Gimme, Gimme and Coronation Street).
