Winner of series 5 of RuPaul's Drag Race UK, Ginger Johnson, is hitting the road in her new solo tour 'Ginger Johnson Blows Off!', which came to Birmingham's Crescent Theatre on Thursday 24th October 2024.

Drawing inspiration from the human cannonball circus act, the show features: clever stunts and tricks, pyrotechnics, humorous songs and more than one joke about farting, in keeping with the tour's title.
In a show written, directed, and performed by Ginger Johnson herself, the original songs showcased in this tour are written by cabaret legends Bourgeois and Maurice; bringing a mix of strong, satirical 80s power ballads and pun-filled pop numbers. In this devilishly and dangerously delightful production, Ginger is also accompanied on stage by Jen, a safety assistant who brings a deadpan, poker-faced comedy to the whole confetti-covered affair.
A polished show that combines big wigs and sparkling outfits with suspense, silly songs, camp crude humour, and physical comedy, Ginger Johnson’s solo show brings the audience into her outrageously wacky and wild world. Riotously ridiculous and funny from the opening song to the closing grand finale act, Ginger ends on a poignant, warm note about dreams that ties this show off with a perfect ribbon.
Not only is Ginger Johnson a Drag Race winner but her ‘ringmaster’ style command of the stage makes it evident that she is an experienced and seasoned performer who is ready to blast (literally) into a venue near you.
