British gay day show, I Kissed a Boy is returning for series two with a whole new cast of men looking for love. The cast of eleven has been announced by the BBC, and includes the show’s first trans man, hailing from the West Midlands.

Logo for the show I Kissed a Boy is a neon blue sign in a pink square on a deep blue and purple sky background

Lars (23) is a football-loving, hotel receptionist from Wolverhampton who says: “I Kissed a Boy isn't just the fun reality TV show that we all know and love - it is a celebration of queer love in all its forms. And I am honestly so proud to be the first trans person on the show. Growing up, I never saw stories like mine reflected on screen, so to be a part of something that embraces and normalises LGBTQ+ relationships means the absolute world to me. It's messy, it's joyful, it's real and it is exactly the kind of representation we need.”

He adds: “I‘ve been through 16 years of my life as a girl. It's aged me, but in a good way.” Having put everything into his transition, he now wants to focus on other things including finding love face-to-face without the distraction of phones.

“I didn’t have an attraction to girls, I always liked guys. I felt like a gay guy trapped in a woman's body.”

“The missing piece of the puzzle is a man!”

Lars will be joined in the stunning Italian Masseria, where Dannii Minogue plays cupid, by Adam (27), Aron (27), Callum (27), Jack D (26), Jack S (22), Jas (27), Jordan B (25), Jordon R (27), Rory (22), and Ruben (24).

I Kissed a Boy series two starts from Sunday 11th May on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer. Who will find love at first kiss?
