The award-winning Mean Girls: The Musical is coming to Wolverhampton’s Grand Theatre in June 2026, after a successful West End run. The production which has played on Broadway, the West End, and has been adapted into a movie musical has announced a tour which will includes dates in Wolverhampton. Dates for Birmingham have yet to be announced but are reportedly on the tour’s schedule.

The musical is an adaptation of the iconic original Paramount Pictures film (2004) of the same name; with a book by Tina Fey, music and vocal arrangements by Jeff Richmond, and lyrics by Nell Benjamin.
The musical had its world premiere in 2017, and opened on Broadway in 2018 before having its first West End performance at the Savoy Theatre in 2024. On The West End, the production starred Wolverhampton’s own, Tom Xander, as Damian for which he was nominated for an Olivier Award. Tom, however, has suggested that he won’t be reprising the role for the tour in a post in which he said: “he doesn’t even go here. Over and out.”
For those unfamiliar with the story of Mean Girls: “Meet The Plastics – Regina, Gretchen and Karen. They rule North Shore High and will burn anyone who gets in their way. Home-schooled Cady Heron may think she knows a thing or two about survival of the fittest thanks to her zoologist parents, but high school is a whole new level of savage. When Cady devises a plan to end Regina’s reign, she learns the hard way that you can’t cross a queen bee without getting stung. Expect iconic characters, razor-sharp wit, and killer songs.”
Mean Girls plays at the Wolverhampton Grand Tuesday 23rd – Saturday 27th June 2026. Tickets on sale soon: http://grandtheatre.co.uk/
