Noughties pop group, Liberty X, have been announced as a headliner for this year’s Walsall Pride event. Liberty X, who were initially a group of five finalists of the 2001 ITV talent show Popstars, who failed to make it into the winning group Hear-Say, now consists of Michelle Heaton, Jessica Taylor and Kelli Young. The trio are booked to perform at Walsall Pride on August bank holiday weekend.

The group released their début album, Thinking It Over, in 2002 featuring their biggest single 'Just a Little' which rocketed them to fame. In 2007, the group disbanded, although they reunited for various events over the years that followed including: 2012’s ‘The Big Reunion’ on ITV2, an arena tour in 2013, and a one-off performance at Birmingham Pride in 2016.
In 2017, Michelle, Jessica and Kelli reformed Liberty X as a three-piece group, and have been performing at music festivals and Pride events ever since.
Joining Liberty X on the main stage in Walsall Arboretum’s extension are: Madonna impersonator Melissa Totten, Katherine Ellis: voice of The Freemasons, contemporary dance group The Movement Project, tribute to the boybands V4, singer Rachel Crowe, dance classics DJ Lee Anthony, tribute act Absolute Britney, and singer Leanne Louise.
Walsall Pride also features a cabaret stage and dance tent. So far announced for the Cabaret stage are, live vocalist and comedy queen Heffa Trott, and Lady Imelda making a return for the second year. In the dance tent, you’ll find: Ms Pink (Girls Next Door), Chunky B, Kate Meyher, Dan K. Martin Green, and Larry Han. More names are still to be announced.
