Joe Lycett’s chaotically fun Friday night show, Late Night Lycett, has won a second BAFTA Award at this year’s TV ceremony. For the second consecutive year, Joe Lycett has been awarded the BAFTA for Entertainment Performance for his show Late Night Lycett.

The show which is filmed in the comedian’s home city of Birmingham not only brings more creative industry jobs to the region but also spotlights Joe’s love of Birmingham with its filming location in Digbeth, its visits to local shops, and the countless familiar faces featured; including Brummy drag king, Don One, who introduces Joe at the top of every show, drag queen, Yshee Black, Shelley from the rag market, and, of course, Joe’s aunties.
This latest BAFTA for Lycett, not only marks the show’s second award but also the comedian’s third BAFTA, having also been awarded in 2022 for Joe Lycett’s Got Your Back.
Celebrating the award on social media, Lycett said: “Thanks to all the team who worked on Late Night Lycett but particularly James Kettle and the writing team without whom I would’ve just stared at the camera silently.”
