Divina De Campo joins Everybody’s Talking About Jamie cast

Drag performer and RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star, Divina De Campo, has been announced for an upcoming UK tour of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie. Divina will join the cast as Loco Channel, in the touring production that celebrates ten years of the show; coming Wolverhampton, Birmingham, Nottingham, and other venues across the UK in 2027.

The story of Everybody's Talking About Jamie is a celebration of drag, self-expression, and acceptance. Jamie New is 16 years old, living on a council estate in Sheffield, where he feels he doesn't quite fit in.  Supported by his loving mother, friends, and drag mentor, Hugo/Loco Channel though, he rises above the prejudice and bullies to step into the spotlight in all his sparkling glory as he attends prom in drag.

Divina De Campo will be bringing their decades of experience as a seasoned drag queen, singer and performer with a signature four-octave range and sharp comedic timing to the role of Loco Channel. Her previous stage credits include Hedwig and the Angry Inch (Leeds Playhouse) for which she won Best Performance in a musical at the UK Theatre Awards, Mary Sunshine in Chicago, The Diana Mix Tape Musical, and Amanda: The Night Before Me.

Speaking about the show, Divina De Campo said: “It's such a great juxtaposition of a battle alongside campery and foolishness.”

Divina will be joined by Kelle Bryan star stage, screen and Wolverhampton Grand's 2023/24 pantomime (from 15th January - 8th May) and star of stage and Strictly Come Dancing, Joanne Clifton (from 10th May – 24th July) in the role of Miss Hedge. Also joining the cast are Ashcon Rahmani making his professional début as Jamie, Rebecca Trehearn (Becoming Nancy, Kiss Me, Kate, Sweet Charity) as Margaret New, Natasha Lewis (Alice in Wonderland, Brief Encounter, Little Shop of Horrors) as Ray, and Mariam Pope making her professional musical theatre début as Pritti. 

She also won’t be the only drag performer on stage with Jenson Steele (AKA Tiana Biscuit) starring as Laika Virgin, Daniel Jacob (AKA Vinegar Strokes) starring as Sandra Bollock, and Matthew Cavan (AKA Cherrie Ontop) as Tray Sophisticay. 

Everybody’s Talking About Jamie plays at Wolverhampton Grand (23rd-27th February 2027), Birmingham's Alexandra Theatre (18th-22nd May), and Nottingham’s Theatre Royal (7th-12th June).
