Jenii Luperi, a voice coach from Cannock who now works in Walsall, has spoken to the BBC about the 2025 UK entry to Eurovision, Remember Monday; saying "UK, we are in safe hands. They are going to deliver. They do every time because they are so good and have worked so hard for so long."

Lauren Byrne, Holly-Anne Hull and Charlotte Steele – the trio that make up Remember Monday – were taught by Luperi who was previously a performing arts teacher in Farnborough.

The three friends formed their band in 2013 and reached the quarter final of TV talent show The Voice in 2019. They will be performing their song ‘What the Hell Just Happened’ in Switzerland this May, representing the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest, making them the first female band to represent the UK since 1999.

Lauren, Holly and Charlotte have impressive musical theatre backgrounds, and prior to quitting their day jobs and becoming full-time band members in 2023, they have appeared in musical theatre productions that include West End productions of Les Misérables and The Phantom of the Opera (Holly), Mary Poppins (Charlotte), and Matilda (Lauren), the latter of whom also had a lead role in the nationwide tour of SIX The Musical.

It was revealed on BBC Radio Stoke that the group’s name is inspired by their former teacher, Luperi, who often had to track the girls down and remind them of their classes, "Remember, it's Monday, we have class," she would tell them regularly.

Upon learning that her pupils would be representing the UK, Luperi said: "I'm so thrilled. These three are just the nicest, humblest, most hard-working girls you'll ever meet. They've been doing this for a long time and they've really worked hard to get the recognition.

"Any live performance they do, they will be spot on every single time because they're so good at what they do.”

"We're going to bring loads of fun, energy and hopefully do something that you won't have seen before on the Eurovision stage,” Remember Monday added.
