This summer, Birmingham LGBT which is currently located on Holloway Circus – will be re-locating into the heart of Birmingham’s Gay Village to a brand-new centre on Hurst Street. The LGBTQ+ charity will be moving in to a purpose-built space on Hurst Street after 12 years in their current centre.

Along with clinical and consultation spaces, the new centre will have hireable meeting rooms and a large café and events area, all situated on the ground floor and fully accessible.

A press release explains: “Birmingham LGBT was established in 2002 with the aim of providing for the needs of our diverse LGBTQ+ community outside of a one-day Pride festival. The current centre opened its doors in 2013 as the first LGBTQ+ Health & Wellbeing Centre in the UK.

“Fast forward 12 years and we’ve grown from a team of 2 to 26, offering a range of services including sexual health testing and outreach, older peoples support, a domestic violence service, counselling, substance support, youth work and wellbeing support. We’re also the home of Shout, a queer arts and cultural programme that creates spaces for creativity, connection and development. We also run peer support groups and provides meeting spaces for LGBTQ+ community groups.”

At Enclave, we’re all about creating spaces where everyone feels respected, included, and able to be themselves. This new headquarters is a brilliant addition to the city and we’re proud to play a part in supporting Birmingham’s diverse and vibrant community.”
